Bill was a great neighbor, and my mentor on my senior project in high school. He will be missed. I'm thinking of you all during this time.

So sad to hear that Bill died. He was a roommate in the 60’s while we were at OSU. Lots of hiking, camping and skiing. Waking up in Bill’s van filled with sleeping bodies with icicles on our faces, or tents covered in snow. Awhole slew of us shared sea stories, protest stories and adventures.
Susy and girls, I am so sorry that you lost such a good husband, father and grandfather. He was a good friend.

I'm very sorry to hear Bill passed. He was a great guy, always the voice of reason in every discussion, even in an argument. He will be missed.

I remember Bill from our graduate student days, more than 5o years ago. Bill's sense of humor and love of life lightened our days then. That sparkle was still evident in recent years whenever our paths crossed. May your memories comfort you all.

Bill Plank was an inspiration to our family in so many ways. Bill shepherded my budding interest in cycling in our bachelor times in Dhahran during the Gulf War. His enthusiasm for hiking and biking and climbing and his memories of adventures past were infectious. We were always entertained in his presence. We are so lucky to have seen the Planks on a regular basis year to year after Aramco. Some of the places we met up include Fort Collins, Castle Rock, Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, Tumalo, Smith Rock, Tucson, Sequim, Cove Palisades and of course in Bend on many occasions. Bills’ life was full of adventures and accomplishment. We are going to miss our good friend.

I grew up 4 houses down from Bill. My oldest brother married Jean. Bob was Bills age. Bill & I were attendants at Bobs wedding. We enjoyed sharing our growing up years together. I enjoyed following Bill & his family. I’m going to miss the adventures of a very rich & blessed family. God bless you all. Sincerely, Christine Schweda Fehrenkamp

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. I'll always remember Bill's energy and vocal discussions around the dinner table or at the beach. I'll pour a box of wine out for him.
