William, fondly known as Bill, was born to Charles and June Olmstead, in February 1961 in Gary, Indiana. While in school Bill enjoyed playing on the Keystone Motel baseball team as well as playing football. After high school Bill went on to become a skilled marine upholster, focusing on canvas and seat repair for marine vessels. When Bill had the chance, he loved being on the water and spending time with his children.

Bill is survived by his children Jennifer, Kristina, Julia, Dylan and stepchildren, Daryl, and David. Bill is also survived by his precious grandchildren Chanel and Christian. Bill is also survived by his beautiful former wife Lanette. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Charles and June Olmstead as well as his beloved daughter Heather Elizabeth Olmstead, who died tragically August of 2022.

“If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in my father’s arms and tell him they’re from me.

Tell him I love and miss him, and when he turns to smile,

Place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for a while.

Because remembering him is easy, I do it every day,

But there’s an ache within my heart,

                                                      That will never go away.”
