I am so sorry to hear this. I enjoyed every story and laugh with Bill. He will be very missed. Sending his family my condolences and love. Give Baby some scratches for me. I'll drink a bottle of Mountain Dew in his memory today.
I was so sorry to hear about McCarthy….yes he has always been McCarthy to me (not Bill), from the first time I met him in the early 80’s at the insurance agency where he did our IT work and he was something! I knew him through his many adventures and mis-adventures over the last 40 years. The thing that I learned about him throughout those years is he had a big heart and would do what he could to help anyone in need, sometimes to his detriment. He loved the casino, his corvette and eBay! After his move to Henderson he didn’t love that I couldn’t remember the time difference and would call him with a question before the crack of dawn😂. McCarthy you will be missed!
To Billy, Janell, and Kay: So sorry for your loss. Bill and I (and Vickie would see him occasionally, either in Wichita Falls or St. Louis area or talk on the phone. Bill was his own character. I kept telling him that he could not die before me, but as usual he ignored that advice. I wish him well wherever he is. I hope there is casinos there. I will miss him.
Uncle Bill was a fun guy to be around! Always had stories to tell and people for us to meet! My favorite memory though…. When Mike and I got married he traveled to Illinois from Texas in his limo! He carted us all over in that limo pre-wedding to pick up the dresses etc., even took Mike and I to the airport as we headed on our honeymoon! Memories we surely won’t forget!
Bill was a great big brother. He always could make me laugh with his stories and he had a lot of of them. I believe he enjoyed his adventures whether it was gambling, Harley trips or girlfriends. He also loved his many pets over his lifetime. He was my go to guy for anything computer related. We enjoyed his visits. I will miss him every day.
Bill was a fun loving fella that liked to get married! I miss the days when he was spry and couldn't get enough of his motorcycle, shooting, boating and golf endeavors. He lived a full life and I feel fortunate to have known him.
He was a very fun, loving and thoughtful father. The only thing he could not tolerate was being lied to....and I did that often; from changing report card grades to breaking things and blaming the dog.
We had a lot of good times: trap shooting, boating, lots of vacations. He will be missed.
I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Bill in 1985 when I started working at an insurance agency. Bill was our IT guy. Bill would come in and tell us stories about the lake, his boat and then his Harley. And of course his casino adventures. He gave me a couple of items he won because he had so many! We traveled in some of the same circles so I would run into him socially as well. Bill was a great guy. He lived for years at the apartment complex across our parking lot that the agency owned, so he could walk to work or just stop by to visit. I missed him when he moved to Nevada but I was happy he would be taken care of. By that time he wasn't in great health. I miss you Bill!
Bill truly embraced the joy of living and sharing great times with others. He brought laughter to everyone fortunate enough to know him. It was a pleasure to have him as my father-in-law. We had some great times out at the lakes, going to the casino, and talking guns, his girlfriends, and computers. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the memories and laughter he left behind.
There are so many good memories of my Dad. Summers at the lake, giving me a very fancy baton twirling costume when I was little, and of course, walking me down the aisle. He was always there when I needed him and we always had a great time together. He was certainly a bit of a show-off but that just made him more fun to be around. I only wish we had camera phones during my childhood so I had more pictures from all those good times.
