William Thomas Leagans, 1937-2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of William Thomas Leagans (Billy), who peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2025, at 87. Born on September 26, 1937, in North Carolina, he was a caring father and beloved friend.
Bill was a dedicated golfer and passionate about fishing, hunting, and all things sports. His love for North Carolina and its BBQ, his talent for grilling, and his story-telling made Bill the entertainer he was. He led a full life with adventures in India and even practiced with the Los Angeles Rams in the 1960s.
William is survived by his ex-wife June Gruner, longtime girlfriend MaryAnn Boehm, his children Lori Porth (Timothy) and Christa Holton (Robert), and grandchildren Charles, Adam, Erin, Reagan, and Delaney. He was preceded in death by his beloved youngest daughter Amie Catherine Leagans.
A private service will be held at a later date. We will miss his emoji texts after each sports event played on TV and during each holiday. His spirit will live on in our hearts.
