William's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Anderson. Born on September 12, 1943, William lived a rich and fulfilling life until his passing on July 18, 2025.
William's love for his family defined him. Left to mourn his passing are his his son, Mikael Anderson; daughters, Heidi Morse and Mindy Hoffmann; his brother, Robert Anderson; his sister, Lori Dlask; and an incredible cohort of grandchildren – Christian, Ethan, Brandon, Aaron, and Evan Morse; Brooklynn, Chloe', Joseph, Dallen, Mara, Anderson, Koen, Rhys, and Brittyn Hoffmann. William was also a beloved Great Grandpa to three. He is predeceased by his dear wife, Cheryl Anderson, whom he married in 1967 and who was a beacon of light in his life.
William joined the Army in 1961, a decision that shaped him as a man of discipline, honor, and commitment. His personality was infectious – witty, detail-oriented, kind, a man who never forgot a birthday. His favorites in life included Italian beef, chili, German potato salad, prime rib, and cheesecake. A lover of football and murder mysteries, he was also a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers.
His generosity extended beyond his family. Known to buy groceries for strangers in line, his kind actions resonated with many. Among his greatest joys, he proudly held the title of being a grandfather to fourteen, ensuring his legacy would thrive in the hearts of his kin. His tradition of bestowing a dozen roses to his daughters and granddaughters on their 12th birthday was a symbol of his love and care. He wanted to be the first man to buy them flowers, a gesture deeply cherished by them.
One of the hallmarks of his love for his family and friends was his dedicated spreadsheet of birthdays. He would always call to give his best wishes, stating it was a sign of respect to remember. This thoughtful gesture encapsulated the kind of man he was – meticulous, committed, and deeply loving.
William's soul was filled with a dry sense of humor, compassion, a deep sense of love for his family, and quite a bit of sarcasm. He lived a life full of meaningful connections and left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His circle was not large but he would give everything to anyone who needed it. His legacy of love, kindness, and respect will forever be remembered in the hearts of those left to celebrate his life.
