William's obituary
Bill, born March 26th 1949, passed away on July 5th 2025 after a two week struggle following a bicycle accident. He is survived by his daughters Abigail and Francesca, stepson T.J., ex-wife Korin, granddaughter Frances, siblings Mary Ellen, Roseanne, Richard and Margaret, and partner Marietta.
Bill loved literature and all forms of wordplay. He enjoyed sending poems and essays to his loved ones, a testament to daily inspirations and his rich inner life. He was passionate about justice and education, which galvanized an early career in legal counseling, and later many different iterations of teaching. He pushed himself in mind and body, whether that was to read the latest feminist essay by Rebecca Solnit or run the Boston Marathon. In the past ten years he fell in love, traveled to France, Switzerland, Turkey and Ecuador, and spent lots of time with family. His determination to live a full life was tested in many ways, and his ability to do so was made possible through the love and support of his family, without whom this story would have ended even sooner. We will miss him terribly, and remember to honor him every time we put on our helmets, read something inspiring, or experience beauty.
