William's obituary

William “Bill” C. Jones, 71, of Wathena, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2026, at his home, likely due to heart disease.

Born July 26, 1954, at Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Ralph and Alberta Jones, Bill graduated from Midway High School in Denton and spent over 28 years driving for United Parcel Service.

A lifelong classic car enthusiast, he was a proud member of the National Street Rod Association and attended its events every year since 1980. He had a special passion for classic Fords. He was also an active member of Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Bill is survived by his children, Jennifer Harper (Jay), W. Clinton “Clint” Jones II (Tracy), and Ryan Jones (Abbey); grandchildren, Grayson and Quinn Harper, and Oliver and William Jones; and siblings, Jim (Vivian) Jones and Mary Jane Jobe (Don). He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Norma Jean Atkins (Mike) and Jerry Jones (Sue).

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support the family during the estate process and to honor his enduring passion for classic cars.
