"Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained." - Jonathan Harnisch Freak
I know that we didn't always see eye to eye, and hadn't talked in a while, but you are still my Uncle. I have good memories of you as a child and as an adult.
When I was little, maybe 4, and you lived in River Dale, MD; Tina and I used to get to come stay a week with you. Even though I got home sick no matter where I stayed lol, you always used to joke with me and try and make me laugh to take my mind off it when I cried.
At one of the Family Reunions we had, i was like 6 or 7, I fell off the Merry Go Round and banged my knee pretty good. I was crying, my knee was bleeding and I didn't see my parents anywhere. You were talking to Little Eddie and saw me. Little Eddie grabbed a napkin, and you wiped my knee, and carried me to my Mom.
I will never forget you and my Dad talking about football and NASCAR racing. lol Y'all were complete opposites as fans. You, a die hard, loyal Dallas Cowboys and Dale Earnhardt fan. Dad a die hard and loyal Redskins and Bill Elliot fan. The teams and drivers were rivals. It used to crack me up.
I will always admire you for your strength and determination. You put up one hell of a fight until the end.
In closing, I listened to a song by the late great Billie Holiday, "I'll Be Seeing You". I will cherish your memory in these ways.
