William G. "Bill" Hofgard, of Boulder, Colorado, passed peacefully in his home on July 30th, 2020. He was 88 years old. Bill was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on November 13th, 1931 to W.S. Hofgard and G.P. (Phillips) Hofgard. He is preceded in death by his wife Edna and their daughter Ann-Marie. Bill is survived by his three sons, many grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A longtime resident of Boulder, Bill made the Hofgard name synonymous with integrity and perseverance in the community. His list of professional achievements and awards is long and truly impressive, yet pales in comparison to the man he was - kind, empathetic, patient, and tenacious are just a few words that anyone could use to describe him. He had a soul that was capable of pouring out unconditional love, the type of person who'd encourage any dream, and be there to celebrate the successes and offer comfort if all came crashing down. He never let his loved ones become discouraged over real or perceived failures. Bill always put others needs before his own, right up to the end he was more concerned about those around him than himself. He is the type of person we can all aspire to be and boy did he set the bar high.

I'm sure at this point he'd be telling me, "oh pshh okay that's enough" shaking his head in embarrassment over the endless compliments so I'll leave it at that. He will be sorely missed as we all carry on with his memory close to our hearts.

Bill was a man of faith and these scriptures were among his favorites:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created things, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
