William's obituary

The family of William John Hazelbauer, born in Chicago, Illinois December 8, 1936, shares that his final performance ended May 12, 2025 at 88 years old in Dallas, Texas where he lived for over 45 years. He attended Anderson College, now Anderson University, Warner Pacific College, earned his masters degree in music at Indiana University and wrapped up his education working toward his doctorate at North Texas State, now University of North Texas. He was a Composer, Arranger, Orchestrator, Conductor, Writer, Singer, Music Teacher and Voice Teacher, teaching both in colleges for 18 years building entire music departments and privately. He enjoyed a life filled with many musical accomplishments including trumpet playing, singing, band leading, directing orchestras, composing and arranging for orchestras, bands and combos. He wrote, performed in and composed songs for theatrical productions, ensembles and ballets. His love for music and a natural tenor voice lead him to choral work and leading roles under the direction of Eugene Feurst at Portland Oregon’s Theatre Arts Opera Association. As a voice teacher he taught some of Dallas’ finest singers his technique for keeping the voice healthy no matter the genre of music the singer chose. Our beloved Bill Bauer, as some called him, was a deeply caring, kind, accommodating, giving gentleman and loved football - especially the Cowboys! He will be missed. Complications from a fall along with chronic infections proved to be more than his body could withstand and peacefully passed in the quiet of night. He is survived by his wife, Pamela and their children; son Fred Kores, wife Stacy and their two children, Evie and Freddie IV, daughter Kerry Kores Card, husband Joshua and their two boys, Finley and Miles; his brothers-in-law Michael Klobucar and sons, Kenneth and Michael and Thomas M. Peadon, wife Cher Chilton Peadon. No services planned at this time.
