Randy's obituary

Our dearest Randy, camping buddy and friend, left this earth to join his brother Ronnie next to the eternal campfire.

Randy was born in 1964 to Yvonne and Bill Groskinsky. He went to Billings West High School, graduating in 1982, and then Eastern Montana College, and served in the US Army. Randy was a catalyst and partner in creating the first internet service provider in Montana, Internet Montana, and then worked for Computers Unlimited as a network engineer and CCNA/CCNP. He later became interested in HAM radio, with his beloved aunt and uncle, and became a licensed operator, call signal KE7YDB.

Randy loved camping and the outdoors. On the weekends, Randy was usually sighted driving Sanford to Columbus, mattress strapped on top and ready to camp for the weekend at one of his favorite spots. Weekends were filled with body-surfing the rivers, campfires with friends, and great food. Sanford gave way to a new 5th wheel, more weekend adventures, and great campfires. Randy was a member of local pool leagues, enjoyed motorcycles and rallies with friends, loved to pan for gold with his “bonus” family, or spend time with his niece Arianna.

Randy is survived by his three sisters: Nancy (Clay) Groskinsky Schwartz of Shepherd, MT; Brenda Groskinsky of Lawrence, KS; and Vicki (Mateel) Groskinsky of Albuquerque, NM; his six nieces and nephews which he loved dearly: Kacey, Lexie, Dieter, Arianna, Mason and Maleah; his uncle Bud and aunt Ann; his bonus family; and numerous treasured friends. Randy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Yvonne and Bill, and his brother Ronnie. A small celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
