William's obituary

William (Bill) Patrick Gerould

August 20, 1968 – March 4, 2025

William (Bill) Patrick Gerould, 56, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on March 4, 2025. Born on August 20, 1968, in Detroit, Michigan, Bill lived a life full of creativity, compassion, and connection.

A graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Bill is remembered as a young man with an immense love of music who amazed everyone with his breakdancing skills.  He got great joy from camping, fishing and travelling with friends. He found his passion in the culinary arts at an early age. He pursued a fulfilling career as a chef, sharing his talent in kitchens of all kinds and touching the lives of many through his food and warm personality. Whether crafting comforting classics or exploring bold new flavors, Bill brought heart to every plate and joy to every room.

He will be remembered for his free spirit and the deep care he showed to those around him. Bill’s legacy lives on in the memories of his easy smile, his goofy jokes, laughter-filled gatherings, and the enduring love of his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bill Gardner. He is survived by his loving mother, Merrilee Gerould; sisters, Kirsten Gerould and Melisa (Tricia) Concepcion; and brother, Michael (Heather) Gerould. He was an uncle to nephews, Devin (Genevieve) and Ilan Gerould; nieces, Mila Concepcion, India and Ila Gerould; and a great-uncle to Alaya Jo and Peyton.

A "Celebration of Bill’s Life" will be held Sunday July 27th, at Willow Metro Park in New Boston, MI. Details can be found in the “Events” tab.
