William Gerald “Bill” Kinney, 93, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in hospice care in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Born in Pennsylvania on March 6, 1932, Bill was the son of the late Frank Kinney and Margaret McGee. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, Bill worked as a mechanic, where he was known for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, passions that brought him joy throughout his life.

Bill is survived by his daughters Kelly (Darrin) Denis and Holly Hettwer (Tim, deceased); grandchildren Matthew (Laura) Gomez and their children Morgan and Paul, Lauren (Andy) Boyer, Rachel Denis, Joseph (Amanda) Leopold, and Timothy J. Hettwer; sister Patricia Elletson (Barney, deceased); brother Dick Kinney; and many dear friends in Tennessee.

A small private ceremony will be held, with interment at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Bill will be remembered for his service, his craftsmanship, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
