William “Beef” Dean Hill, age 68, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2023 in Washington Court House with his wife Rhonda by his side. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on March 31st, 1955 to Dean William Gaines and Mary Margaret Carley Hill.

Bill got the nickname “Beef” at an early age, as he was much larger than his classmates and friends. To his family and friends he was a gentle giant. He graduated from Teays Valley High School (Class of ’73) and went on to serve in the US Navy. He worked for the Columbus Fire Department (Station 14) for 25 years, followed by the United Parcel Service for 13 years before retiring in 2013. He loved adventures, being with friends, riding his motorcycle, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rhonda (Harrison); two sons; Doug (Mary) and Michael (Laura), and eight grandchildren.
