Bill was born in Woodland Washington. His father was born in 1908 in Seattle, Washington and his mother was born in 1911 in Sellindge, England. Bill grew up in Corvallis, Oregon where his father was a professor of forestry at Oregon State University. He earned a BS degree in mechanical engineering in 1969 and a MS degree in management science in 1971, both from Oregon State University. Bill worked in executive positions in the forest product industry. From 1994 to 2008, Bill was General Manager of the largest box plant in the world located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. During Bill’s life he devoted himself to helping people by lifting them from adversity. Bill is survived by his wife Sherri Davies, his daughter Rebecca Simpson, two stepchildren, Jared Shaw and Jeannie Lengyel, and his brother Robert Davies. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
