William's obituary

William G Daly, 44, passed away May 7, 2022 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

William was born in Miami, FL on September 20, 1977. He entered the world as a premie, worried that he would not make it, but that never stopped him from growing and achieving phenomenal athletic, educational and musical feats in his lifetime. Right before he passed away William completed the Spartan Race with his great friend and “brother” Alex Castro. He was so excited to achieve this goal and his family and friends were beyond proud of his dedication to achieve this goal.

William moved to Texas for a short period in his lifetime where he attended Wylie high school in Abilene, TX. He enjoyed all sports but loved playing football for the bulldogs as their star player.

William moved back to Florida where he spent the rest of his life enjoying the beautiful beaches, great food, avid music scene and spending time with his loved ones. Will loved to surf, practice yoga and meditation, practice his music, and of course keep up with his beloved Miami Hurricanes and Dolphins.

William went by many names to his family and friends, some of them to name a few were, Will, Willy, G, Uncle G, Willy G, or the best version of them all long and strong Willlllllyyyyyyy!

His spirit and personality was unmatched, and every time he walked into a room he lit it up with joy and soulfulness. He had an impact on so many lives, even strangers he only met once, which is a true testament to the wonderful man he was.

His love for God was also very strong as an avid catholic he enjoyed spiritual Sunday’s in Church with his loved ones.

William began truly honing his craft of musical talents the last few years of his life. Crafting his singing skills and perfecting his guitar playing. He was very talented and his music was very soulful and deep. Something that truly matched the essence of William and his soul.

William worked closely with his older brother Randall throughout his adult years, whom was always there for William and loved his little brother more than words can describe.

He met the love of his life Alyssa Milardo in 2012 and spent over 10 years growing a life together. They were engaged to be married in December of 2020. Together they had 3 dogs, one of whom will would always call his little princess Zoey. They had a special bond that was unexplainable, and always said how he wanted to pass before her because he could not bear losing her.

William was preceded in death by his nephew Steven Cottner.

William is survived by his fiancée Alyssa Milardo, and their “babies” Pancho, Bandit and his princess Zoey. His Mother, Olga Jimenez. His older brother, Randall Jimenez, his sister in law, Danielle Milardo and his nephew and Godson, James Randall Jimenez. His older sister Grettle Cottner, his brother in law, Dan Cottner and his nieces and nephews, Robert, Michael, Katherine and Gabby Cottner ; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.

There was a small viewing that was held on May 17, 2022 in Miami for family and close friends. We also had a Celebration of Life Memorial on June 5, 2022 for all family and friends to pay their tribute, support and love for William.

William was then cremated and half of his ashes were buried in Abilene Tx, next to his beloved nephew Steven. William being the free soul he was always said he could not be contained and throughout his travels shared how he would love his ashes to be spread in the most beautiful destinations. Alyssa and Randall will be honoring his wishes and scattering the other half of his ashes all around the world.
