William's obituary
William Crocket, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in his home with wife and son present.
William, known by most as Bill, was born on December 22, 1930, in Nova Scotia, Canada, to Lillian and Allan Crocket. He moved to the Central Valley in California at the age of 3. After graduating from Fresno High School he joined the Navy and served on the USS Coral Sea. Soon afterward, through mutual friends, he met the love of his life, Sandra Cook. They got married on Valentines Day, 1956, a joyous marriage that lasted for over 70 years that led to the birth of his son, Allan Crocket in 1958.
In 1959, he bought his first house in North Ridge, California and worked for his dad’s company; Crocket Manufacturing, while founding his own company, Crocket Designs. He settled down in Oxnard, working at Chattsworth Products, eventually rising to the ranks of Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, before finally retiring in 2022.
A gifted designer and craftsman, he had many passions. His mind was full of ideas which led to his garage being full of projects and woodworking. His designs were included on the space shuttle during the Apollo missions. He also discovered a passion for sailing. He joined the Channel Islands Yacht club in 1977 and would regularly sail his boat, Liquid Asset.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his son, Allan; his two grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on May 24th at the Channel Islands Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American diabetes association.
Bill’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers, friends, and neighbors who supported them during this time. His gentle spirit, dry humor, open generosity, and unwavering love for those around him will be deeply missed.
