William “Bill” Lee Brockhaus, 83, of Tarzana, California, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, one day after celebrating his 83rd birthday.
Born on January 22, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bill lived a life defined by dedication, service, humor, and love for others. He earned his doctorate in business early in life, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Bill was a United States Air Force veteran and proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as a professor at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and in the graduate school of business at the University of Southern California, where he inspired and guided many students, as well as helped design the Entrepreneur Program at USC. After being a professor, he went on to starting a company that focused on Mergers and Acquisitions.
Bill was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, respected business owner, and Scoutmaster who touched countless lives through mentorship and leadership. He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in nature, adventure, and time spent with family. Known for his great sense of humor, kindness, and generous heart, Bill made everyone around him feel valued and welcome.
Family meant everything to Bill. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carolyn; his son, Austin; his daughter-in-law, Mandy; and his cherished grandson, Henry, who brought him immense pride and happiness. Also survived by sister-in-law, Joyce Brockhaus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herald and Leona, his step-mother, Imogene and his brother, Robert.
Bill will be remembered for his integrity, humor, faith, and steady presence. He was a man who led by example, served with humility, and loved deeply. His legacy lives on in the many lives he influenced and the family he treasured.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake, CA.
Bill’s life was a gift to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
