William's obituary

William (Bill) Theodore Brendel, 76, returned to his heavenly home on July 7th, 2021 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Bill was born to the late Theodore Leo and Ethyl Marie Brendel, a florist & WWII veteran and a homemaker respectively, in Chicago, IL on July 12, 1944. Bill, like his father, was an Army Veteran. Bill also, like his parents, loved our lord, Jesus Christ. He dedicated the latter years of his life serving God with membership to the Knights of Columbus, St Johns Catholic Church, and driving dedication to the Pro-Life movement.
Bill is survived by his partner, Georgie; his son Derek and wife Donna Brendel; his daughter Laura and husband Scott Peden; his grandchildren Lauren, Lexi, Hannah and Joshua; his great grandchildren Addy, Everleigh, and Bennet; his brother, Robert, and his sisters Barbara and Mary. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget Finley; and his parents.
Bill served the Lord faithfully, year after year, in many areas: Christmas Giving Tree, Lector, Choir, Human Concerns, St. Vincent & LaSalette Sales, Sacristin, Head of Mother Teresa Chapel, Hospitality, Knights of Columbus Grand Knight 4th Degree, Bread Runs, Prayer Network, Communion to Homebound, Arithmatheans, Altar Server, Euchoristic Minister.
Bill will have a visitation from 9AM to 10AM, with funeral mass at 10AM on Friday, September 10th, 2021 at St Johns Church in Twin Lakes WI. Immediately following, there will be an interment at the St Johns Cemetery. Father Arthur Mattox will officiate the service. The family gratefully declines flowers, but donations can be made to TwentyThree61 in his name at www.twentythree61.com/donate or at the Knights of Columbus at www.kofc.org/donate
