William “Boots”'s obituary
Boots Moore, born William Dyer Moore III, on August 11, 1950, in Austin, Texas, passed away in Foley, Alabama on July 6th after battling liver and bone cancer.
He was the first born child of Jean Harris Moore and William Dyer Moore Jr. and a pure joy to them both. He had 3 younger siblings who he cared for deeply; two brothers - Charles Richard Moore (deceased) and James Manning Moore, as well as a sister - Mary Martha Gilbert.
Boots was a natural born athlete and during his youth living in El Paso, Texas, he was star swimmer for El Paso Country Club (EPCC), star PONY league pitcher, and running back for El Paso High School's varsity football team while still a sophomore. He continued a lifelong love of sports and all outdoor activities during his years back in Austin, Texas as well as all around Little Rock, Arkansas where he spent the majority of his adult life.
He got saved in the early 2000’s and loved sharing his testimony with anyone he met. Psalms 23 was his most favorite verse, and no matter what he faced in life, he held an unwavering faith in God and knew God would always be with him. He talked about Jesus and family daily, as he loved them both so much. He was excited knowing that when he passed he would finally be in the arms of Jesus.
He had a broad interest in all aspects of life, curious to the very end, and a very big heart that shined the light of love and joy on all those who were around him. He was a loving and wonderful Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend, and he will be greatly missed by all of us near and far.
He is survived by his two daughters, Shannon Moore of San Marcos, TX and Shari (Ryan) Homan of Foley, AL; three step daughters, Candace (Evan) Mills of Clovis, CA, Dawn Polich of San Jose, CA, and Brooke Polich of Sunnyvale, CA; eight grandchildren, Dalton Albrecht and Tre Lewis (San Marcos), and Gavin, Silas, and Norah Homan (Foley), Landree and Maverick Mills (Clovis), and Keimana Agnew (San Jose); a brother, Jimmy (Fehrunnisa) Moore; a sister, Mary Martha (Wayne) Gilbert; and many loved nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Moore; his parents, William D. Moore Jr. and Jean Harris Moore; and his brother, Charles Richard Moore.
There will be no public memorial.
