William “Wil” Benjamin Reid 48 Southside Alabama passed away in the early morning hours of February 19,2023 with his family and close friends by his side while faithful bulldog “Porkchop “ was lying in the bed with him. Wil was a compassionate, gentle soul that loved making people smile. He was a very true southern gentleman and every sense of the word and always had a smile on his face even though just below the surface he had his share of scars. Will graduated in 1997 and signed baseball scholarship to Mississippi State University, even though God would have different plans, he faced every adversity with his signature smile and can-do attitude. He was a successful businessman and an icon in the Commercial Laundry industry. Wil was the youngest person to have ever been granted a distributor ship with continental laundry equipment.h He was successful because he treated every employee and customer like they were family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family and friends. A devoted father, and beloved friend Will was a giant to the ones that knew him best. His heart was huge. He just wanted to make people smile. Will loved the outdoors and lived a very active lifestyle. He completed the Appalachian Trail from start to finish in 1996 He is preceded in his death by his father, Ben Reid , grandparents, Wilbur and Dorothy Reed, Roy, and Martha Victor Spring Hill, Tennessee. He is survived by his ex-wife, Stacy, sons Kale and Tucker Reid five brothers and sisters, as well as the number of nieces and nephews. Will’s passing was sudden and unexpected and this little part of the world is devastated and completely heartbroken to say goodbye to our friend while at the same time we are honored to be able to call a man like Wil Reid our friend. Will was not only my baby brother he was my hero as well. I looked up to him and tried to replicate my life in the way he lived his. I love you bubba! We will see you again soon. Godspeed, my brother! A celebration of Wil’s life will be held at Hokes Blufff Funeral Home Monday February 20 from 11-1:30 and close friends are invited to the “family farm” in Springville to spend the rest of the afternoon remembering our friend!
