It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of William Barth Osmundsen, affectionately known as Bill or Ozzy, on May 20, 2025. Born on April 10, 1947, William was an accomplished artist with great accomplishments from the 60s until his death in 2025. He was a unique soul with an unrivaled passion for his art. He also cherished the memorable moments he created with his family through his art work.
Proudly served as an US Navy sailor as a draftsmen his art was seen and admired around the world. For those who wish to view his legacy of exceptional artworks, they can be found on Bronzes at Sea.org. His creativity and the tangible legacy he created can inspire future generations of artists.
William is survived by his daughter Caroline Dahl, his son Richard Dahl, his grandchildren Alexandra Stamnas, Benjamin Banks, Elizabeth Rogoff, and Sophia Dahl. He was predeceased by his daughter Nelle Hopper and his wife Georgine Dahl. The last 15 years of his life were enriched by the time he spent with his daughter and grandchildren, which, in his words, was one of his greatest accomplishments.
Known for his exceptional taste, he loved Lobster and shrimp steak, and his family famous pancakes were a treat for all. though he did enjoy a good wine with dinner. He was a fan of Boc classical music and enjoyed watching 20/20 and the Chronicle. Chest on his tablet was his preferred game, and in his free time, he loved to indulge in his art work.
A man described as witty, brilliant, loving, and caring, William taught those around him important life lessons. To be honest with oneself and others, accept yourself and others just as they are, and understand that there is always a solution for everything. His belief in loyalty, honesty, and the fact that a man’s word is all he has were valuable insights he imparted on his loved ones.
His favorite color was red, a testament to his vibrant personality and complex artistic style. His kind heart and inspirational words have left an indelible mark on those who knew him. A wonderful man who made great memories for his family, William Osmundsen was one of a kind man with a heart of gold. His children, of 8 who he took on as his own, are a testament to his extraordinary character.
