Willa's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, wife and grandmother, Willa  Mae Collins previously Hicks. Willa was born on July 4, 1942 and departed from this life on April 6, 2026.

Willa enjoyed a simple but fulfilling life filled with love, care, and compassion. Her journey in life led her to a career in nursing, an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of. Her selfless service to her patients was unmatched and her love for her job unfathomable.

Willa's playful personality shone through her love for food, especially pizza, ice cream and soup, and her fondness for Arizona sweet tea. She was an avid supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and spent many happy hours either cheering in front of her television. In her younger years she loved to travel, read, and camp. In her older years.Watching TV and baseball games were among her favorite pastimes and brought her immense joy.

The colors gray and blue held a special place in her heart, often reflecting in her wardrobe, accessories and home decor. Her love for family was deep and this strong familial bond was a cause she deeply cared about.

Her parents where Lillian Bryant and Clyde Jerome Hicks both deceased. Her first husband was William Garrett Collins who was an union electrician and died in 1972. Her second husband Bill Myers was an union pipefitter and died in 1978. She had two William Collins,  and Bradley Allen Collins. Bradley Allen Collins died in 2017.

She is lovingly remembered by surving family, son Willam Gregory Collins, her granddaughters Brooke Collins, Rebecca Elm, and Christie Lay Elliot, and her grandson Michael Collins. Her love, nurturing, and kindness are imprinted in their hearts as they remember their dear mother and grandmother they have lost.

Her legacy of love, care, family and passion for life is one that will live on in the hearts of those she has left behind. Our world has lost a beautiful soul, but heaven has gained an angel. Rest in peace, dear Willa.
