Mina's obituary
Mina (née Wilhelmina Carol Johnson) Stewart, was born May 10, 1939, and became stardust December 9, 2016. Beloved wife, mother, family member and friend, Mina passed away in her sleep the morning of Friday, December 9, due to complications from several long-term illnesses. A lifelong admirer of beauty and love of her fellow human beings, Mina spent her life in service. She received her license for registered nursing from the Pembroke College (now part of Brown University). She spent her early career as an RN in the cardiac and critical care units at hospitals from Delaware to Texas to California. Furthering her passion for healthcare, Mina received advanced degrees from St. Mary’s College and the University of San Francisco. She became a top-level nursing administrator at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA; Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Portland, OR; and Bannock Regional Medical Center (now closed). After early retirement, she continued in healthcare by co-owning a holistic health center in Pleasanton, CA, and as Counselor/Practitioner through the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living.
Mina is lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, H.J. (Stew) Stewart, her daughter, Pamela, her four beautiful grandchildren Marissa Craft O’Neil and Nicholas Craft (of Marc Stewart and Michelle Craft) and Zachary and Quincy Braxton (of Pamela and Ron Braxton).
Mina’s ashes were laid to rest next to her son, Marc Stewart, at the Rose Garden of the Chapel of the Chimes, 2601 Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa CA.
She will be loved & missed as long as there are people who loved & remembered her.
