Wilbert was born on May 1st, 1962 to Herman and Addie B. Turner in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1980, he went on to play football thanks to a coveted sports scholarship at Southeast Oklahoma State University and Tarleton State University. He went on to play semi-professional football for the Arlington Drillers. In 1985, he met Loretta Orr, and they had two children, Amanda and Nicholas Turner. He later had another daughter, Chloe Turner. He went on to have a long career in logistics, working at Super Shuttle and others where he primarily worked as dispatcher. Wilbert had a gregarious personality and he never met a stranger. He loved to strike up conversation wherever he went. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of Amanda, Nicholas, Chloe and Loretta and always tried his best to support them. Wilbert was also a passionate sports fan, particularly of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and could often be found on the softball field where he continued to play competitively into his fifties or at home shouting at the television about the latest score or goal. Anyone who knew Wilbert knew that he was a loving father and partner. Wilbert was predeceased by his parents Herman and Addie B. Turner, and his brother Herman Turner Jr. He is survived by his partner, Loretta Orr, children, Amanda, Nicholas and Chloe and his grandson, Logan, his sisters Rosa Hartfield, Carrie Turner and Gwendolyn Turner as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
