Weyland's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Weyland Everett Brooks on February 16, 2025, in Springfield, MO. Born on November 24, 1956, in Chicopee Falls, MA, Weyland was a cherished son to Kathleen Gibbs and Johnny Brooks, and a beloved brother to Lloyd and Karen Brooks.
Throughout his life, Weyland embodied a spirit characterized by simplicity and an insatiable curiosity. Notably, his life was marked by a deep commitment to kindness and generosity, traits that defined his interactions with family, friends, and community alike. Whether it was his mastery as an ASE Technician, the leadership displayed in W.E.B. Enterprises Handyman Service, or the dedication to driving school buses later in his career, every endeavor reflected his ambition and honest work ethic.
Weyland's professional journey was decorated with numerous accolades, including the coveted ASE Master Technician, HVAC Master Technician, Master Electrician certifications, and a Commercial Driver's License. Beyond these achievements, he took immense pride in attaining the Eagle Scout ranking in Boy Scouts and partaking in Police Exploration.
A man of the outdoors, Weyland found joy in camping, fishing, hiking, and discovering new wonders of nature. He cherished building, creating, and learning new skills, applying a hands-on approach to life that also extended to his love for cooking.
His legacy survives in the hearts of his son, Kevin Brooks; daughter-in-law, Samantha Martin; and granddaughters, Maisyn Brooks and Bentleigh Wojtczuk. Weyland’s journey was not only defined by his certifications and career accolades but by his humorous and compassionate presence that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
