Wendy's obituary
**Obituary for Wendy D. Ray**
*August 19, 1958 – August 2, 2025*
Wendy D. Ray, born August 19, 1958, passed away peacefully in her home after a long and courageous battle with illness. A woman whose spirit could never be contained, Wendy lived a life that was vibrant, unapologetic, and full of passion. She split her time between Delaware and Florida—so much so that we’re still not sure if she was more Delawarian or Floridian—but no matter where she was, she made her presence known and her love felt.
Wendy was the beloved daughter of Audrey and Raymond Goodman, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a devoted mother to three daughters: Stacey Goodman, Laura Ray, and the late Leigh-Anne Ray, whose memory Wendy held dear every day. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Alexandra Garza, Brianna Ray, and Daimen Mumford—and her three great-grandchildren: Aaron Baine, Zoey Baine, and Nico Garza, all of whom were the light of her life.
Professionally, Wendy was a certified medical assistant and dedicated her life to caring for others. She found her true calling as a caretaker for individuals with special needs, a role that she cherished deeply. Her compassion, patience, and fierce heart made her an irreplaceable part of many lives.
Known for her wild spirit and unmistakable laugh, Wendy was a force to be reckoned with. She was always down to party, never one to follow the rules, and completely unapologetic about who she was. Her green thumb was legendary—she could bring any plant back to life and knew the name of just about every flower and tree. She loved bird watching, had a soft spot for animals, and found peace in nature’s beauty.
Wendy’s life will be celebrated at a funeral service on **Wednesday, August 13th at 11:00 AM** at **St. Martha’s Episcopal Church in Bethany Beach, Delaware**. The service is open to all friends and family who knew and loved Wendy throughout her incredible journey.
In the end, Wendy lived on her terms, loved without limits, and left behind a legacy of strength, humor, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
