Wendy's obituary

Wendy Jean Ramires, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 1st, 2023, at the age of 57. She was born on October 26, 1965, to Jaqueline Findley and Henry Ramires in Commerce, Texas.

Wendy was a free-spirited woman, who was compassionate and altruistic. Her smile and laughter could light up a room, and she was a friend to all she met. She loved to travel, visiting exciting new places and meeting new people.

Early in her career, Wendy worked alongside a midwife, assisting in home births and early infant and mother care. She later became a brilliant party planner, chef, and caterer, beloved by her clientele during her time in the hospitality industry. She was also a creative artist and painter; her murals and artistic flair brightened many restaurants and homes.

Wendy was a passionate, loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband Kerry Hammer; her children Matthew, Daniel, Eleanor, and Madison; her five grandchildren Wyatt, Lydia, Athena, Rita, and Rabbit; her mother Jaqueline; and her brother Rick, along with two step-daughters and five step-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 9th, at 1 p.m., at 1011 Sherwood St. in Gladewater, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manna House: Manna House, 317 Broadway, Gladewater, TX, 75647 (by mail) or (903) 845-3128 (Mon, Wed, Fri, by phone).
