Wendy's obituary

Wendy Lee Pile, born April 23, 1940, in New York City, passed away on June 30, 2024, surrounded by love, light, and family. She was the beloved daughter of Robert Leonard Cudd and Barbara (Lee) Cudd.

Wendy is an alumna of the Chapin School and Bradford Junior College,  where she nurtured her passion for art and creativity.  She had many exhibits in New York City for her art. She then moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Alongside her husband, Robert Pile, Wendy co-founded Ocean Life Park Aquarium in Puerto Rico, where she worked as a dolphin trainer and shared her profound love for animals with countless visitors. She also owned and operated a children’s boutique called “The Children’s Exchange.”

She retired after moving to Sarasota, Florida.

A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Wendy's warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone around her. Everyone loved her and she will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Pile, as well as her brother, Jere Cudd.

Wendy leaves behind her beloved children, Morgan Pile (Heather) and Audrey Cates (Charlie), along with her favorite people, her grandchildren: Scarlett and Savanna, from Florida and Sterling and Nichole from Virginia. They will carry forward her legacy of love and creativity.

A celebration of life will be held on September 21, 2024, at 6 PM, with a sunset gathering at A Beach Retreat on Casey Key. We will release her into the ocean.

105 Casey Key Rd, Nokomis, FL 34275
