Wendy L. Martell, 53, passed away unexpectedly at her place of residence in Vernon, CT on March 11th, 2026.

Wendy was the beloved daughter of the late Rosalie Glidden-Oluwaremi, her estranged father William Martell Jr., and she was also predeceased by her sibling Ilene LaBrecque.

She is survived by her long term partner Steve Shaney, her loving daughter Nicole and her son-in-law Tyler, her grandchildren Lukas and Lydia, as well as her sisters and their spouses/partners BillieRose Martell & Richard Parmenter, Mysty Palardy & Ronald Palardy Jr., Tree Rose & Jennifer Wegge, and Diane Labrecque. Wendy was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews all of whom brought her great joy.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Her most loved passion was jamming out to classic rock. She also loved playing card games (most notably cribbage and rummy), watching horror movies and playing video games.

Purple was her favorite color, a reflection of her vibrant spirit.

Wendy will be remembered for her free spirit and the love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
