Wendy's obituary
Wendy L, Dufkin, 66, of Coeymans, N.Y., passed from the arms of her loving family into the embrace of her Savior, Jesus on October 24th, 2025. Born in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey, Wendy was the beloved and faithful daughter of the late Joyce Young and Joseph Boehringer.
Wendy was the heart of her family, the center around which so many lives revolved. The one who brought everyone together, creating traditions and memories that will live on for generations to come. She was the devoted wife of William Dufkin, proud mother of her sons Andrew (Hanna) Kastanos, William (Cathy) Dufkin, Jacob (Kayla) Dufkin, Caleb Dufkin, and her daughters Regina (Darren) Fori, Abigail (Robert) Tate, Adriane Dufkin, Stephanie Dufkin, Elizabeth Dufkin, and Madeline (Pearson) Balfe, and loving bonus mother to Brandy Dufkin and David (Liz) Dufkin, as well as many others she “adopted” under her loving wings. The joys of her life included her soon-to-be 19 grandchildren, each of whom she adored beyond measure.
Wendy’s home in Coeymans was her canvas, lovingly restored with her creative eye and filled with warmth, laughter, and chaotic “Sunday Family Dinners” that no one dared to miss. She had a gift for making every holiday magical, and every gathering meaningful.
Later in life, Wendy followed her calling and became a registered nurse, caring for others with the same compassion, sharp wit, and wisdom she gave her family. Her patients, coworkers, friends and loved ones will remember the strength, deep kindness, and the unfailing generosity that defined her.
Wendy loved the ocean more than anything on Earth, finding peace and renewal in its endless rhythm. Her love was a light that can never be dimmed. Though her absence leaves an ache no words can fill, her spirit will live on in every gathering, every wave that meets the shore, and every act of love passed forward in her name. She fed our spirits with her unwavering faith, her words, and her endless patience, and she fed our bodies with the meals that brought us all together, again and again. Wendy’s love, laughter, and light will live on in all who knew her, and her legacy of family values will continue through generations.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 1:00pm at Gospel Community Church, with light refreshments and fellowship to follow.
