Wendell's obituary
In Loving Memory of Wendell Carter
Born June 29, 1955 and Passed on May 27, 2025
Wendell Carter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. Born in Omaha, Nebraska to Clarence and Janelle Carter, Wendell’s life was defined by hard work, fierce independence, and a love for family that never wavered.
As a young man, Wendell learned the value of dedication working on a pig farm. He later followed his parents to Lamar, Missouri, where he would meet and marry the love of his life, Julie. Together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and ambition.
Wendell was a true entrepreneur—his vision and work ethic helped build a trailer business that became known and respected across the country. He was proud of what he built, and even prouder of the legacy it created.
Outside of work, Wendell was a man of many passions. He was an avid bowler, a skilled hunter, and a loyal card player who never turned down a game. But more than anything, he enjoyed time spent with his family, where his wit, warmth, and wisdom made every moment memorable.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Janelle Carter, his wife Julie, and his daughter Brenda Miller. He leaves behind his son Brian Carter and daughter Christy Little; his sister Debbie Taffner and brothers Mike, Rick, Allen, and David Carter. He also leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren: Dakota and Meggie Miller; Sarah, Karen, Lucy, and Luke Carter; David, Destiny, and Cody Little. Wendell was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren—with one more on the way.
He was a strong, hardworking man who lived life with grit, independence, and integrity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
