Ted's obituary

Wayne T Westover Jr., 63, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on October 10, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, to Wayne and Claudia J. Westover Sr..

Wayne, also known as Teddy, had an infectious smile and personality that filled the room wherever he went. He had a passion for helping people with projects and was always ready with a solution to any problem. Ted was an exceptionally skilled truck driver who could haul anything, anywhere, and at any time. He took great pride in his work and was known for his exceptional skills.

Ted was a proud veteran who served in the Marine Corps starting in 1978, a testament to his strong sense of duty. His passions in life were many but his love for the Lord, family, bonfires, NASCAR and tractors stood out in particular. He loved his children dearly and was a constant source of encouragement and support for them. He cherished the time spent with his family and created countless memories that will be treasured forever.

He found solace in doing projects and lending a helping hand to people in need. Ted had a special fondness for the color red, reflecting his spirited personality. Ted worshipped at Trinity Family Church (Forney, TX) Grace Bible Church and Akron Riverside Alliance, where he found solace and strength in his faith.

Ted was the loving father of Tera (Travis) Wineberg, Wayne (Jessica), Warren, and Alison (Chris) Altland. He was the proud grandfather of, Azaria, Elijah, Ethan, Olivia, Wyatt, Brady, William, and Isaiah. He is survived by his mother Claudia J. Westover, his sisters Claudia Westover and Evelyn Butcher, and ex-wives Sherry Hall and Cindy Westover. He is preceded in death by his father Wayne T. Westover Sr., his sister Veronica Burkadt, his sister Janel Gaylord, his brother Robert Westover

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located in Akron, Ohio.

As we say our final goodbyes, we reflect on the life of a man who was the epitome of strength and spirit, and whose memory will be forever etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, Ted.

Please join the family in celebrating Ted's life at a viewing and service on TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cover arrangement costs.
