Wayne Mattes, 75, of Reisterstown, Maryland passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2023 after complications from brain cancer.

Wayne was born on May 21, 1948, is predeceased by his parents Ed and Mae Mattes and niece Karen Reger.  After graduating from Poly High School Wayne pursued a career in commercial heating and air conditioning.  He was a project superintendent for Local 100. Darlene and Wayne met while growing up in Baltimore, married in 1969 and were happily married for 54 years. Darlene and Wayne went on to have two children, Jeffrey and Bradley.  In addition to his wife Wayne is survived by;  son Jeffrey and wife Jennifer;  son Bradley and wife Mia; brother Edward and wife Nancy; a nephew and many nieces.  Wayne is survived by his three grandchildren; Mackenzie, Natalie and Colt whom he adored. Wayne loved all types of music and dancing.  He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Colts fan. Johnny Unitas was his idol. Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
