Wayne Howard Lanning 34 of Laurelville Passed away unexpectedly on June 1 2023. The son of Benjamin Lanning and Melody Smallwood, Wayne graduated from Vinton County HIgh School in 2007.

Wayne is survived by his Mother Melody Smallwood, HIs Girlfriend and life long Best friend Karley Hinton and Her daughter, Aarolyn Rossiter, his sister Ava Kneece, his brothers William Hart and Waylon Hart, his maternal grandmother Phyllis Danner, his cousin Curtis Schwalbach Several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ben Lanning, and cousin, Kyle Schwalbach.

Known for his outgoing, funny, and cheerful personality, Wayne brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered. Throughout his life, he shared valuable life lessons with those around him, including the importance of smiling even when you don't feel like it. Though he is no longer with us, Wayne's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Wayne's life impacted countless individuals, and his passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. As we remember Wayne, let us honor his memory by embracing the joy and laughter he brought into our lives, and by continuing to smile even in the face of life's challenges.
