First, I want to express my deepest condolences to all of Wayne’s family and loved ones. Wayne was a wonderful man that showed remarkable love and support to my family. As many of you may know, Wayne had a tough exterior, but underneath that, was a heart of gold. Wayne was an honorable man, and one of the most hardworking people I ever met. Even though he had a very successful and demanding law practice, he still made time to be there for my family. My brother, Robbie, who is autistic, was especially fond of Wayne. Wayne not only accepted Robbie with the love and grace that one could only hope, but also used his creativity and savvy to create new ideas to make my brother’s life easier and happier. Robbie would always rave about his cooking, and look forward to Wayne’s Shabbat dinner every week! Robbie would say that Wayne was the best cook ever, and brag about all of the amazing food that was made for him. Wayne and Robbie created a wonderful bond that changed both of their lives forever. I remember meeting Wayne and being dumbfounded that a lawyer was unbelievably talented when it came to anything having to do with the house. No challenge was too big or intimidating for Wayne, and I so admired his chutzpah! He somehow had the innate ability to beautifully restore furniture, redo a fireplace, paint, garden, fix things around the house, and yet still have a booming law practice! He also beautified my family’s life making it all the more happy. Wayne took unbelievable care of my mother and brother, which made me feel more comfortable moving across the country. Wayne loved my mother unconditionally, and I know the feeling was deeply reciprocated. I will always appreciate everything that Wayne did for my family. He made a monumental impact, even in the few years we had with him. Rest in peace, Wayne Howell.
