Wayne's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Fichter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on February 6, 1945, Wayne passed away on May 23, 2023, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Paulette Fichter, whom he married in 1966.

Together, they raised three wonderful children: Kim Ranck (Allen), Wayne Fichter Jr. (Dawn), and Brian Fichter (Lauren). Additionally, Wayne was overjoyed to welcome numerous grandchildren into the family, including Kelsea Neely (Dan), Tyler Ranck (Emily), Mackenzie Ranck, Nicole Fichter, Lydia Fichter, Dalton Fichter, Charlotte Fichter, and Brayden Fichter. He was also fortunate to meet and cherish his great-grandchildren in recent years, Hayden & Autumn Neely,

Throughout his life, Wayne faced the loss of several close family members, including his sister Sandy Wilhide, brothers Dennis and Calvin Fichter, best friend Lee Wilhide,  and his parents Florence Mastellar and George Fichter III. Despite these hardships, Wayne remained steadfast in his love for his family and friends.

A graduate of Interboro High School in 1963, Wayne entered the workforce as an auto mechanic and retired from Ford 30+ years later.  Wayne went on to be an active volunteer for the West Bradford Youth Association, where he shared his passion for youth soccer. His love for soccer has been passed on to his children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren who now all play and or coach. A man of many interests, he enjoyed spending time with his family camping, hunting, and fishing.

Wayne's warm wit, humor, and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Wayne could be found on nights and weekends repairing friends' and neighbors' cars at his home garage. Wayne believed he could fix anything with duct tape & bubble gum. With a strong belief in hard work, kindness, and family, his greatest accomplishment was raising his three children. His legacy of putting family first will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

In loving memory of Wayne Fichter, we invite friends and family to pay tribute to a remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his unwavering commitment to family and community.
