Wayne was the first music director I ever knew that could produce a million dollar show from a five dollar choir...and I mean that with all due respect for the incredible talent at the church. But his expectations were beyond what we had ever experienced. I brought friends from outside the church to see the amazing FREE productions. He is greatly missed for so many reasons, but I remember his ability to draw out the best in everyone!

Heidi, Renee and I were devastated to hear of Wayne’s passing. His ministry at North Raleigh Naz was so powerful and inspired. He had an anointing we’ve rarely seen. Our condolences to you and the entire family. Thanks be to God that we “do not grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope”. We take comfort in trusting God’s plans for Wayne which are in eternal glory.  Dan and Renee Rooker

our hearts reach out to you and the kids. We have such fond memories of you and your family in Richmond. There are certain songs that come on Christian radio that remind me of Wayne and his talented worship leading along with you and your kids in the worship team.  we continue to pray for you to have the strength to move on.

Heidi and Family,

Our sincere condolences on the passing of Wayne. We will always remember him as a caring and compassionate person who was so enjoyable to connect with. Our paths crossed at Olivet where we shared many occasions in ministering through music. Our hearts go out to you as you navigate this very difficult time. Prayers are being lifted for you even now. Wayne will not be forgotten.

WE ARE SO VERY SADDENED WITH YOU. OUR BROTHER IN CHRIST WAYNE WAS A MAN WE LOVED SEEING AND HAD WONDERFUL MEMORIES  WITH.  YOUR CHILDREN ARE  IN OUR PRAYERS AND PLEASE LET THEM KNOW THE DRAKES CARE AND ARE HERE IN VA IF THEY NEED TO TALK WITH ANYONE.  WE ARE SO GRATEFUL THAT WAYNE IS WITH OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN NOW WHERE NO MORE PAIN OR TEAR ARE THERE AND THANKFUL THAT JESUS PREPARED A PLACE FOR HIM!

Dearest Heidi, and family,  

We are so very sorry to hear of your loss, but certainly Heavens gain!  We love Wayne and I enjoyed being in his choir so very much.  He was a very good musician and director! 

 He truly loved his family and Jesus and it showed! He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.

Wayne was a very loved man as is his family. We are very grieved over his loss. We love each one of you and hold you precious in our hearts. We are praying for you daily and only wish to hug and hold each one of you and help shoulder this grief and heavy load. We hope to see you all in days to come to express love and comfort to you all.

We have such wonderful memories of your time in Raleigh. Your sweet family will forever be cherished in our hearts and minds as we remember laughing, crying, and sharing life together in choir practices, praise team rehearsals, and babysitting the kids. Wayne's suggestion to "go check out my friend Joel at Lifepointe" forever changed the course of our lives, and we are so grateful for that. Our hearts are so heavy for you as you grieve, and we will continue to pray that God will provide for your every need as He comforts you as only He can. Love you so much!
