Mr. Wayman Marian Holder, age 81, of Rome, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, in a local hospital.

Mr. Holder was born in Floyd County on May 26, 1935, son of the late Thomas Curtis "T. C." Holder, Sr. and the late Bessie Eugenia Garrett Holder. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Opal Holder Owens, and by 2 brothers, Gene and Thomas Holder, Jr. Mr. Holder served in the United States Army National Guard for several years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with General Electric here in Rome for 39 years. He was a member of the G. E. Retirees, the General Electric EMF Club, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, the former Jerry Ann Aycock, to whom he was married on October 9, 1954; 2 daughters, Vicki Holder Lester, Rome, and Alison Holder Ciccone, and her husband, John, Haymarket, VA; 6 grandchildren, Erin Olsen, and her husband, John, Nashville, TN, Jonathan Lester, and his wife, Emily, Atlanta, Lauren and Caroline Anne Ciccone, both of Haymarket, VA, Randy Lester, and his wife, Jennifer, Columbus, and Lorrie Hampson, and her husband, Craig, Port St. Lucie, FL; 3 great grandchildren, Alex Olsen, Nashville, TN, and Kaitlyn and Caroline Lester, both of Columbus; a special family member, Ava Lee Horton, Rome; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 2pm at Fellowship Baptist Church with his Pastor, Dr. Dale Levan and the Rev. James Wright, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Fellowship Baptist Church on Friday from 12:30 until 1:45pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assemble at Fellowship Baptist Church on Friday at 1:30pm and are as follows: Active: Marlin Holder, Joe Holder, Michael Holder, Bill Harrison, Jesse Garay, Randy Lester, Jonathan Lester, John Ciccone, and Dr. John Olsen. Honorary: Members of the G. E. Retirees Club, the G. E. EMF Club, and Tony Colello, Jr.
