Waylon "Chad" Barnes
In loving memory of Waylon "Chad" Barnes age 43, who left this world peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Chad was born on December 3, 1981, in Enid, Oklahoma.
Chad is survived by his mother, Betty L. Blankenship; his sister, Reba, and her husband, Bryan Harrison; his nephews Asher and Haven, and his niece Jayda Harrison, all residing in Kingston, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his two children, Maisie Barnes and Tyler Barnes, along with his long-time partner, Michelle Whitten, from Denison, Texas. Additionally, he leaves behind two step-grandsons, Elijah Gabriel and Legend Bruce, also of Denison.
Chad was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Mr. Almon Blankenship; his grandmother, Mrs. Phyllis Blankenship, of Kingston, Oklahoma; and his father, Curtis R. Barnes.
Chad's early life was spent in Enid and Kingston, Oklahoma, before he moved to Denison, Texas, in 2015.
He embraced each day as a precious gift, taking pleasure in the outdoors and appreciating the beauty of the world. His insatiable curiosity fueled his desire to learn and understand the intricacies of life, making each moment meaningful.
Chad had an infectious sense of humor, always believing in the importance of bringing joy and laughter to others. He achieved this effortlessly, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was one of a kind.
His interests extended to mechanics and technical experiments, and he held a profound appreciation for nature. His vibrant personality and dedication to nurturing friendships distinguished him, as he valued the connections he cultivated throughout his life.
Time spent fishing with friends and working on GMC and Chevy trucks were among his favorite pastimes, and he cherished the memories created with his grandfather, Almon.
Chad was a compassionate soul, always offering warmth and engaging dialogue to those around him. His faith deeply resonated with him, especially following the transformative moment he encountered his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 31, 2024, which brought him immense peace and comfort that he graciously shared.
A private memorial service will be held for his family.
