Background
Words can't express how deeply saddened we are to lose our dear friend and colleague, Wasim Chaudhry of Chaudhry Halal Meats. The Chaudhry family has been core to our local food community for decades. Wasim worked with NC Choices, Firsthand Foods, and hundreds of local farmers over the years alongside his father, Abdul, brother, Atiq, and many other family members. Those who knew him remember a kind, warmhearted, smart, hardworking friend who was quick with a laugh or his charming smile.
Wasim recently lost a battle with Covid-19. He leaves behind a 4 year old daughter, his wife who is currently expecting their second child, a loving extended family, lots of dedicated employees, and many, many friends. Please hold them all in your hearts as they work to make sense of this tragic and enormous loss. Contribute
