Warren Norris McCroskey was born in a small town called Corning California, to his parents, Daniel Leroy McCroskey, and Azalea LuAmy DeLarm McCroskey. Daniel was a farm laborer, and Azalea was a housewife, formerly a teacher. Warren grew up eating salmon fished from the Sacramento River, plenty of oranges, figs, dates, almonds, and many other homegrown delicious foods. He attended Corning Elementary and High School, graduating in 1938. He received a scholarship after his first year of college, and graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1942. He got hired by General Electric, and started working in Schenectady New York, where he met Clara Emily Wrana. They were married in May 2, 1943. To this union were born Daniel W., Kathleen R., Marsha L., Susan G., Carol E., Nancy A., and William W. Susan and Carol have preceded him in death. Warren went on to have a long career at GE, working in Oakland, San Jose, Lynn Mass., and finally Fort Wayne, Indiana where he retired. Warren was instrumental in Hermetic motor development, being in Who's Who of America four times for his inventions in motors, and was one of the leaders of the product line at GE. He served as Manager of all Small Motors at GE on Winter Street. He later went on to work for several years for Copeland motors, in Ohio and Tennessee. Warren and Clara divorced in 1975, and he  married Louise Carroll Heaston.  In his retirement, Warren enjoyed his home, his small orchard, and his dogs. His daughter, Marsha, lived with him for a few years before many hospitalizations caused him to have to become a resident at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne. There, he entertained the other residents with his recitals of the Gettysburg Address, poems, songs, playing his trumpet, and stories. He passed peacefully at 101, two months shy of his 102nd birthday. He was loved by his family, and everyone that knew him. He is survived by his remaining children and their spouses, 22 grandchildren, and 24 great- grandchildren.
