First, my condolences to Nancy, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Larry Dale, and to all of my cousins and our families, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I only saw Ward once after we were adults, and thoroughly enjoyed my visit with him, Larry Dale, and my precious Aunt Ethel Lee. I have the best, and warmest childhood memories with Ward, Larry, Aunt Lee, and Uncle Sonny. Christmas morning with the boys and putting candy canes in oranges to get the juice out and watching Christmas shows till it was time to go to Mamaw and Papaw's, I still put an orange and candy canes in my grandkids stockings, because of that. Love you Ward, and always will, from your left coast cousin, Gail Montgomery ❤️

Nancy Monk and Benefield family, you are in my thoughts and prayers for comfort knowing Ward is with Jesus and Normie. He was truly one of the good ones. His passing is a loss. I am very blessed to have had him in my life. Missing him. :(

Ward you are the love of my life. Together 18 years. You are not only my beloved but my best friend. You loved me till I could love myself. You poured into my life and taught me, through example, how to persevere, how to trust God and how to love people. You taught me, through example, forgiveness and grace. So many others can say the same about you. You gave your life away on this earth and now I can't really grieve your passing, although it's a sad time because I miss you but I know your with Jesus and your mama and Joshua and all the other saints that went before you. You have earned many crowns in this life but you gladly and unreservedly placed them all at the feet of Jesus. Thank you for loving me. Not always an easy task but you loved me unconditionally. Can't wait to see you again. The last words we said to each other are I love you and I'll say it again now. Love you babe. ❤️

Ward was always so sweet, friendly, and open. I’m sure he was a kind helper in his work. He had such a big heart and a good sense of humor. My sympathy to his sons, grandkids, and Larry. I know he will be deeply missed.
