It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Percell, affectionately known by many as "Mom", "Sister", "Daughter", "Grandma" or "GiGi". Wanda transitioned to eternal rest on January 23, 2024. Born on October 30, 1947, Wanda led a life characterized by her strong family values, kindness, and her distinctive, spunky personality.
Wanda is survived by her sister Carol Wootten-Casbar, brother Dan Wootten and children Tina Taran, Ken Larvins, Chris Schankowski, and David Schankowski. A testament to her loving nature, Wanda's greatest pride and joy were her children, considered by her as her greatest accomplishments.
Known for her fun-loving spirit, Wanda had a deep affinity for certain foods and drinks. She loved Chicken Alfredo and could always go for an ice cream sundae. A perfect day for her would include a Mocha Iced Coffee in hand, listening to her favorite songs like "Butterfly Kisses" and hits from Elvis or Rascal Flatts.
Wanda was an avid viewer of the HGTV and Hallmark channels. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying a good game or two. Moreover, she loved outdoor activities, with her favorites being Bingo, shopping, and spending time with family.
Her preferred means of staying active was walking, a simple pleasure that she enjoyed in her favorite local spots, such as Walmart, the lake, and butterfly gardens. She had an affection for butterflies that was well-known, leaving behind a legacy of 'butterfly kisses'.
Wanda's passion extended to helping others, particularly those affected by Chiari Malformation. Her favorite vacation getaway was Florida, soaking up the sun and capturing memories.
Described as funny, sassy, spunky, and happy, Wanda wore her vibrant personality like a badge of honor. Her favorite color was blue, aligning perfectly with her vivacious outlook on life. Her most important lesson to all was the importance of family.
Wanda leaves behind the gift of love, family, and resilience. Her memory would continue to flutter in our hearts like the butterflies she loved so much. The world is indeed a bit dimmer without Wanda's bright spirit, but her light will forever glow in the hearts of those who loved her.
