Wanda's obituary

**Obituary for Wanda Louise Boughter (Epps)**

Wanda Louise Boughter (Epps) was born on January 12, 1935, in Arkansas, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She was 87 years old.

Wanda married the love of her life, Walter "Hank" Henry Boughter Jr., and they remained devoted to each other until Hank’s passing in 2017. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and adventure.

Wanda was cherished by all who knew her. She was a great mother and enjoyed raising her three children—Brian, Douglas, and David—as well as her two beloved siblings, Joyce Baxendale and Wayne Epps. She was also a proud grandmother and great grandmother affectionately known as Nana.

A lifelong learner and dedicated educator, Wanda earned her undergraduate degree from Cal State Fullerton, followed by a master’s degree, and invested in countless hours of professional development throughout her career. She served in the Placentia-Linda School District, where she taught at Rose Drive Elementary and later took on the role of Instructional Resource Educator at the District Office. Wanda believed deeply in the transformative power of education, often saying, "A good teacher opens not just the mind, but the heart."

In 1980, Wanda and Hank embarked on a new adventure when they founded Boughter Development, designing and building the Mariposa Townhome community in Placentia, California. Their partnership in both life and business was a testament to their shared vision and determination.

In retirement, Wanda continued to embrace life with passion. She and Hank traveled extensively by motorhome, exploring the country they loved. South Texas held a special place in their hearts, where they spent their winters, finding joy in the simplicity of the open road and the company of fellow travelers. Wanda also enjoyed writing and had articles published about their travel adventures and retirement experiences.

Wanda’s zest for life was evident in everything she did. She approached each day with curiosity and joy, and her faith in Jesus Christ was her guiding light. She served faithfully as both a deacon and elder in her church, and her dedication to children’s programs and drama productions was a reflection of her desire to serve others and spread love.

Wanda and Hank are both with our Lord. Their bodies rest together, forever united at Arlington Military Cemetery in Riverside, California.
