As we move to Summer and the 4th death Anniversary of Walter Wirth, I fondly remember him from my early days in the Tower of DZRJ Am/Fm in the Pererra Bldg, Sta. Mesa, Manila, just out of College and into the world of MUSIC and Writing. Petrified Anthem, a band of brothers was Original and took the early days of PInoy Rock in the company of Juan De La Cruz and dozens of cover bands, but these two in particular were Originals from the get go ! I Never lost touch with Walter in San Juan and Mandaluyong where we both lived ever until just before I had to come to the States before Covid19 for lower back surgery. His spirit LIVES on through the MUSIC I have from many LIVE sessions in radio stations I had my shows on......I share them on MusiKuarium Radio over Spotify Podcasts with a publication Episode # 46 coming this end of June, 2024 and his LIVE work with Bobby Alvarez, Dr. Ted and JAM88.3fm's engineers who recorded Walter that night....I look Forward to working with John Wirth this year from the East Coast to do a collection of John's recorded memories of Petrified Anthem and Walter's work at concerts, Clubs and venues over the decades till his untimely death in silence and mystery. Sincerely, Hoagy Pardo, aka C.H. Pardo on Google.

As we head to the 72nd Birthday of Walter Wirth, as I read about his being born in NYC and grew up in NJ before out paths had coincided in the 1970's Manila and kept up our friendship over the years until his unexpected death in 2020, when I was already in Connecticut due to surgery and COVID restrictions for a few years. I note that I was conceived in NYC and moved to Manila as a teen in 1962 from Wisconsin. Walter was a constant friend who graced my radio shows on a couple different FM stations in the Martial Law years of the Philippines and then afterwards in the new 21st Century at our favorite deli in San Juan, Santi's of Swiss PH resident origin and a good place to satisfy any New York deli wishes. Walter played on and we miss him dearly. Hoagy Pardo
