It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Walter "Dan" Rodgers on March 15, 2024. Born on December 12, 1947, Walter was a beacon of kindness and steadfastness, drawing in those privileged to have known him throughout his 76 years. He was fondly known as Dan to some, but he preferred to go by Walter.

Walter was a proud and decorated military man, a testament to his belief that hard work and dedication pay off. His service remains one of his most significant accomplishments. He was known for his unyielding optimism and an enduring spirit that inspired those around him.

Walter carried with him a wealth of wisdom and lessons learned from personal experiences. He was passionate about standing firm for what one believes in, echoing his own strong principles and values. He was a firm believer in the restorative power of nature, often found with a fishing rod in hand, his favorite recreational activity.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Claire Rodgers. He is survived by his brother, James Rodgers, and his beloved daughter, Rebeca Rodgers. Their relationships were a testament to Walter's warmth and devotion to those he held dear.

Walter's legacy will forever echo in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him. He taught us to stand firm, work hard, believe in ourselves, and, above all, to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, like fishing until the sun sets. As we mourn the loss of Walter, we also cherish the memories we were fortunate enough to have had with him. He will be sorely missed and his spirit will continue to live on through those he leaves behind.
