On the morning of March 7, 2023, Walter “Bruce” Miller passed away peacefully in the loving care of Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House. He was 92 years old.
Bruce was born on January 11, 1931 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Adolphus Miller and Laura Effie Jones-Miller.
Bruce married Mary Ruth Beaman-Miller on March 8, 1968. They lived in Darlington, Maryland. They had two daughters, Brenda Lee and Roxane Marie. Bruce and Mary were married for 42 years before Mary’s battle with breast cancer ended in 2010.
In his younger years he spent a lot of time and took pride in gardening vegetables and keeping his cars spotless. He enjoyed playing shuffle board and listening to bluegrass music. He retired from Lawrence Lumber. In the recent years, he enjoyed watching westerns and WWE wrestling.
He is survived by his children; Brenda (Thomas) Griffith and Roxane (Charles) Badders. His grandchildren; Lachrisha “Sissy” Miller, Stephanie Griffith, and Zackary Badders. Great-grandchildren; Maleik Miller and Olivia Carter. Brother, Smith (Gloria) Miller.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus Miller and Lara Effie Jones-Miller. His brothers Clyde, Bobbie, John, James, and sisters Rosie, Alphie, and Barbara.
