Walter graduated from Ridge Vo-Tech out of Haines city Florida in July of 1988. He worked hard for a living in the hotel industry in Orlando Florida working his way into hotel management. Walter found a girl (Jane Ewing) that he would go on to marry March 7, 1992 in which created one of his proudest moments in life, the birth of their son Trey Michael Ivy in May of 1995. Many ups and downs within the years and the family moved to Ritzville, WA in 2012 after living in Florida for nearly 25 years. Walter accomplished purchasing his very first home located in Ritzville, Washington on December 24th 2019- quite the Christmas gift.
Walter carried a love for his home state, especially the Florida State Football team. He enjoyed watching football (college and pro), NASCAR, Street Outlaw drag races, fishing, and studying herbology. Walter enjoyed family game nights playing games such as Cribbage, Skip Bo, Farkle and a multitude of board games that brought joy to his life being with family and friends. One of his favorite things to snack on was a peanut butter & jelly sandwich that he would end up sharing with Lila and Maggie (The Ivy family beggars). He loved going to Circle-K for their cheap fountain drinks, Coke being his favorite.
Walter had an eclectic taste in music, with favorites including Metallica, Slipknot, Tesla, Godsmack, Puddle of Mudd, Ozzy, Staind, Nirvana- it's an endless list. His life was characterized by the motto "Don't get caught! LOL" and if asked about his greatest achievement, he would simply say "My son, Trey".
