The divine and merciful eyes looked down, smiled, reached, and took Mr. Walter Gurley Sr. know as (Man), November 23, 1989, after a short illness.

He was born August 11, 1911, to the late Mr. Louis and  Mrs. Helen Moody Gurley in Marion S.C.

He was married to the late Mrs. Mildred  “Milburn” King Gurley, and to this union seven children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories; two brothers: Mr. Glenn Gurley, Marion, S.C., and Mr. Garfield Gurley, Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters: Mrs. Clara G. Rowell, Marion,  S.C., and Ms. Flossie Gurley, Trenton, N.J., four sons: Mr. Walter (Patsy) Gurley Jr., Marion, S.C., Mr. George Edward (Martha) Gurley, Durham, N.C., Mr. Harold Deon Gurley, Marion, S.C.,  Master Sergeant Larry Jerome (Sandra) King, Eielson AFB, Alaska; three daughters: Mrs. Annie Mildred Gurley Bridges, Marion, S.C., Mrs. Catherine Gurley Godfrey, and Master Sergeant Doris Gurley (Guy) Davis, Tucson, Arizona; thirty-four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
